Isadora liberated dance, elevating it to a new art form by expressing
a theory of continuous movement that included a virtuosic sensitivity
to the flow of energy into and out of the body. Her life - her
becoming the world's most famous modern dancer, her tours, her
schools and pupils, her disastrous marriage to Russian poet Sergei
Esenin, the tragic drowning of her children and the bizarre death
of Isadora death herself - has been told in countless articles
and books. She was depicted by artists Auguste Rodin, Arnold Genthe,
Jean Cocteau, and others. Director Ken Russell made a BBC film
of her. Vanessa Redgrave portrayed her in director Karel Reisz's
film Isadora and again on the London stage in Martin Sherman's
When She Danced.
has been performing the dances of Isadora Duncan for over 20 years.
Her interpretations are widely recognized for their dynamic, expressive,
and dynamic qualities. She has performed and taught master classes
in New York City, Paris and San Francisco. In Northern California
she performs lecture/dance programs The founder of Diablo Dancer
Theatre, Lois resides in Danville, California.
